DMMMSU Institute of Environmental Governance (IEG) spearheaded the West Philippine Sea (WPS) Provincial Caravan, dubbed as “BAYANIHANG ADHIKAIN, BAYANING AKSYON PARA SA KANLURANG DAGAT NG PILIPINAS”, at the International Convention Center (ICC) of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Bacnotan, La Union on September 18, 2024.

The event, organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG and Tanggol Kalikasan Inc., aimed to popularize, validate, enhance, implement, and institutionalize the provincial action plan set to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage the resources along the West Philippine Sea, particularly the coastal and marine areas within the jurisdiction of La Union.

Officials and personnel from various Local Government Units (LGUs), National Government Agencies (NGAs), and partners from various civil society organizations, people’s organizations, media, and the academe attended the event. (by Celso H. Jucutan)
