DMMMSU hosted a benchmarking activity for Cagayan State University (CSU) about successful initiatives in alumni engagement and internationalization at the DMMMSU Central Administration, Raois, Bacnotan, on October 10, 2024.

CSU delegates, namely Dr. Ana Marie Cristina C. Caulian, Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization; Prof. Kristinne Joyce A. Lara, Director for Internationalization; and Dr. Recto A. Aguirre, Director for Alumni Relations & Placement Services, aimed to gain insights into DMMMSU’s strategic initiatives aimed at creating global opportunities and enhancing academic reputation.

DMMMSU Office of International Affairs showcased its robust internationalization programs, emphasizing the university’s proactive approach to forging collaborations with foreign institutions. The delegation from CSU was particularly interested in the success of DMMMSU in gaining mobility opportunities for both faculty and students. These opportunities include international exchange programs, collaborative research projects, and participation in global conferences, which have significantly broadened the horizons of DMMMSU’s academic community.

Among the strategies shared was DMMMSU’s comprehensive effort to seek out partnerships with universities and organizations abroad.

Meanwhile, DMMMSU’s Alumni Affairs shared recent updates on its ongoing Graduate Tracer Studies, which aim to track the career progress and employment outcomes of its graduates. These studies also strengthen connections with the alumni, promoting continued engagement and collaboration while providing insights into potential opportunities for partnerships and support from its graduates.

CSU representatives expressed their intent to adopt similar strategies, recognizing the importance of internationalization in enhancing academic competitiveness. They commended DMMMSU for its forward-thinking approach and looked forward to applying key takeaways to their own institutional plans for expanding international mobility and alumni relations.
