Three Senior High School students from DMMMSU North La Union Campus Laboratory High School secured second place at the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM) Quiz Bee, held at the La Union Convention Center, City of San Fernando, La Union on October 8, 2024. 

The winning team, composed of Benedict John M. Badua, Hanna Loren P. Obra, and Royen Dave A. Jaravata, was guided by their coach Mr. Jomar F. Casuga, LHS faculty member. They outperformed 53 other private and public secondary schools in La Union. The representatives of La Union Cultural Institute and Brain and Heart of a Christian (BHC) Educational Institution, Inc. placed first and third, respectively. 

“I couldn’t be prouder of your achievement. I am excited to see what you will accomplish next,” Prof. Joan S. Valdez, LHS Principal, expressed in an interview.

This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme, “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.” The said competition was part of the celebration of National Statistics Month. It is held annually to promote and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance of statistics to the different sectors of society.
