DMMMSU officials and personnel from the Office of the Vice President for Academic and International Affairs (OVPAIA) visited Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) from September 30 to October 1, 2024 for a model referencing of laboratories and facilities to strengthen its academic and internationalization efforts.
Dr. Joanne D. Lobrino, BPSU International Relations Director, welcomed the delegation led by Dr. Elsie M. Pacho, DMMMSU VP for Academic and International Affairs. The event featured a presentation by Prof. Carla Bautista-Maghanay, highlighting BPSU’s academic programs’ faculty, research, internships, and the use of BPSU’s hostel for practical training. Prof. Meyan Rose Malabanan emphasized the value of collaboration over competition in higher education, while Dr. Lobrino shared partnership statistics, solidifying BPSU’s reputation for excellence and leadership in international relations.
During their visit, they also explored BPSU’s academic programs, focusing on innovations and best practices in laboratory management.
Before the BPSU visit, the OVPAIA team toured Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, a heritage site renowned for its preservation of Filipino architecture and historical landmarks. The group gained valuable insights into repositories and cultural heritage archiving, which they hope to incorporate into DMMMSU’s initiatives for preserving local history and culture.
DMMMSU officials also learned about the strategies of the province in tourism promotion and heritage conservation. The benchmarking activity is part of DMMMSU’s broader efforts to enhance academic quality and support cultural preservation and tourism initiatives.
