DMMMSU is among the seven state universities that received seed funds from the Commission on Higher Education to support their Doctor of Medicine Program. CHED Chairman Prospero de Vera and Senator Joel Villanueva led the ceremonial turnover of seed funds at Pasay City on October 1, 2024.

According to Sen. Villanueva, this is the fourth wave of distribution of seed funds to boost the Doctor of Medicine Program in SUCs. As with the other state universities, namely Bulacan State University, Samar State University, University of Northern Philippines, University of the Philippines Manila-School of Health Sciences (Palo, Leyte), and West Visayas State University, DMMMSU received P40 million pesos. Cebu Normal University, on the other hand, received P35 million.
