DMMMSU clinched top positions in Digital Poster and Recorded Cultural Dance at the ASEAN Fusion 2024, an invitational competition hosted by Ifugao State University (IFSU) and participated in by different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the ASEAN region, held through a hybrid awarding ceremony on September 5, 2024.
The announcement of winners was conducted through a hybrid forum focused on cross-cultural communication in the ASEAN anchored in the theme “Connected and Resilient Community” to culminate the month-long celebration of the 57th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Founding Anniversary hosted by IFSU.
For the Digital Poster Competition, Erwin G. Agustin (NLUC) was awarded First Place; Janry M. Runas (SLUC) was awarded Second Place; and Almar P. Cendaña (SLUC) and Jonhel L. Gonzales (SLUC) were awarded Fourth Place.
For the Recorded Cultural Dance Competition, DMMMSU’s entry titled “Ragragsakan ken Salip” which echoes the connection of the Bago Tribe to the mystic beauty and grandeur of the Kalinga valleys bagged the Second Place award. The following are the performers for the entry: Liz Beth Calachan, Desiree Diocares, Maricel Domondon, Richel Mae Estimada, Jocelyn Esperanza, Cristel Gorospe, Paulene Idos, Leverissa Llobrera, Jezel Matic, Joenel Rocafor, Franzeus Dominique Romero, Geraldine Siababa, and Michelle Soriano.
ASEAN Fusion is a newly launched program of the IALO aimed at promoting ASEAN regional cooperation and understanding, featuring a variety of activities, including cultural performances, lectures and forums, invitational competitions, and dialogues involving ASEAN HEIs (IFSU International Affairs & Linkages, 2024)
