President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., recognized DMMMSU’s achievements in global rankings and honored key contributors during its ASEAN Month 2024 celebration held at DMMMSU – International Convention Center (ICC) on August 22.

With the theme “Synergy and Solidarity: Fostering Sustainable ASEAN Partnership for Global Impact,” DMMMSU honored the members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) for their hard work and dedicated service in the university’s successful bids for QS in 2022, WURI in 2023 and 2024, and THE Impact Rankings in 2024.

Pres. Manuel, Jr. said that the University’s journey towards international and global rankings had been nothing short of transformative, and “it is with profound gratitude that we acknowledge the collective efforts that made this achievement possible.”

“The QS, THE, and WURI rankings serve as a testament to DMMMSU’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact, and they stand as a tribute to the hard work and collaboration of our entire university community,” he added.

Dr. Manuel, Jr., the Vice Presidents, the CHED IAS Executive Director Atty. Lily Freida M. Milla, and CHEDRO1 Regional Director Dr. Christine N. Ferrer presented awards to the members of the TWG who played a crucial role in achieving DMMMSU’s success in these prestigious global rankings. The recognition was extended to the proponents of projects and programs submitted to the World University Rankings for Impact (WURI), acknowledging their efforts in enhancing the University’s global profile.

De Vera, Prof. Charlie S. Marzan, Dr. Fauslyn Gay Amongan, Dr. Christine Joy U. Ugay, Dr. Emmanuel J. Songcuan, Porf. Enrico G. Dacanay, Prof. Faith Tadeo, Dr. Fredefick G. Tadifa, Mr. Jerald U. Saculles, Prof. Jeseca C. Baculo, Dr. Jesus Rafael B. Jarata, Prof. Kenneth G. Bayani, Mr. Leonardo O. Buyan, Dr. Lher Verell S. Palabay, Prof. Ma. Elena V. Milan, Dr. Marcelina H. Ayson, Prof. Marissa R. Fangon, Dr. Mark Kristian C. Ledda, Mr. Renz E. Ferrera, Prof. Ronald B. Bustos, Ms. Rowena T. Badua, Dr. Tjaart Jan B. Estrada, Mr. Zander Christopher M. Projects for WURI 2023 were also recognized and they include Crisis Management initiatives led by Dra. Charlotte Mildred Marceline S. Asuncion for “Medical and Dental Teleconsultation” and Dr. Jesus Rafael Jarata for “Online Show amid Pandemic (Dito sa DMMMSU)”; Industrial Application projects led by Dr. Victorio C. Palabay and Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. for “Metals and Engineering Innovation,” and Dr. Joe Anthony M. Milan for “Technology Training Program: Towards Google Certified Educators for Teachers of Basic Education for a SMARTer Community”; and Progress in the 4th Industrial Revolution with the project “HyLid Project: D UNIVERSITY Library On-the-go!” led by Dr. Sonia B. Siago.

Meanwhile, WURI 2024 recognized projects such as in the Culture/Values Category (16th Place) for “Implementation of ‘No Segregation, No Collection Policy’ Measures” led by Ms. Rowena T. Badua; Leadership (20th Place) for “Development Roadmaps for the Competitiveness Pillars on Government Efficiency, Economic Dynamism, Infrastructure, Resiliency and Innovation” led by Prof. Kenneth G. Bayani; Generative AI Application (18th Place) for “HABEETAT: A Web App Using Machine Learning Through Lightweight Scripting for Accurate Determination of Suitable Location for Honey Production” led by Dr. Stephan Kupsch; “Data Security Based on ERC5 Algorithm Ver. 2.0 for Self-Checkout Kiosk” led by Dr. Excel V.
