The Open University System of DMMMSU held a comprehensive orientation for new and continuing students enrolled in the BSA, BSBA, and BEED programs at the Multi-purpose Hall, on August 3, 2024. Spearheaded by Executive Director Dr. Bernardo D. Lamadrid, the event aimed to equip students with essential knowledge for their academic success and smooth integration into university life.

The orientation featured key presentations from the OUS officials. Dr. Cristita G. Guerra, Human Resources Officer, introduced the University and OUS Officials, while Dr. Luzviminda F. Salamanca provided an overview of the various academic programs. Dr. Lher Verell S. Palabay, Program Chair, outlined the Academic Policies that students are expected to follow.

Prof. Claudia Denise P. Barbadillo, Guidance Counselor, highlighted the importance of Student Welfare and Guidance and Counseling Services, focusing on mental health support, career counseling, and available scholarships and financial aid. Ms. Claire F. Pascua, Head of Library Services, discussed the Library Services, and Dr. Meljo Z. Apilado, SAS Head, presented the Student Code of Discipline. Additionally, a session on Learning Management Skills offered practical strategies to help students thrive academically.

The event concluded with an open forum, where students could interact with OUS officials and seek clarifications. Prof. Ces Myra P. Mabalot, the GAD Focal Person, served as the master of the ceremony.
