National Apiculture Research, Training and Development Institute (NARTDI) hosted four on-the-job trainees from Benguet State University (BSU) on July 26, 2024. This visit, organized by their mentors, aimed to expose the trainees to beekeeping practices and product processing.

BSU, recognized as one of the satellite centers of NARTDI, has been actively involved in promoting and developing beekeeping. The collaboration between BSU and NARTDI serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, benefiting both the trainees and the broader beekeeping community.

The NARTDI personnel toured the trainees at the processing facilities, where they were provided valuable insights into NARTDI’s ongoing projects and activities, particularly on product development aimed at improving beekeeping productivity. This exposure is anticipated to significantly strengthen the trainees’ practical knowledge and application of beekeeping techniques.

This initiative shows the commitment of both BSU and NARTDI to foster a sustainable and thriving beekeeping sector through education and practical training. (By Arvin C. Tuyan)
