Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – North La Union Campus (DMMMSU-NLUC) hosted a benchmarking activity for Batangas State University (BatSU) on July 23, 2024.

BatSU came to DMMMSU for the Academic BRIDGING program. The team comprised thirty-eight (38) officials. Their discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration and how they could help each other improve the university’s programs to become more responsive to industry requirements and sustainable development goals.

DMMMSU President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. welcomed the delegation. Meanwhile, in his speech, Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, BatSU President, commended DMMMSU’s progress and expressed his desire to partner with DMMMSU.

According to BatSU’s new mandate under Republic Act No. 11694, the University must collaborate with the academic and engineering industries to provide progressive leadership in setting academic standards and initiating innovations in advanced instruction, research, and professional training throughout the country. To assist their university in meeting its mandates, they established a program targeted at improving the quality of engineering education and other programs in the country and increasing its responsiveness to industry demands and sustainable development goals.

During the visit, Engr. Paul James C. Ganola, Director of the Institute of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (IABE), presented the Institute’s best practices. Dr. Anny Ross Bayan, QA Head, facilitated the benchmarking activity.  (By RMV)
