The Institute of Environmental Governance (IEG) of DMMMSU was recognized as the Best Environmental Partner of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Regional Office 1 (DENR RO1) during the Culminating Program of the 2024 Philippine Environment Month Celebration at Hotel Ariana and Restaurant, Paringao, Bauang, La Union on July 15, 2024.

This award acknowledges DMMMSU IEG’s significant contribution as a force multiplier, actively partnering in building a network of young green leaders through environmental action. IEG’s efforts have greatly supported the achievement of the mandate of the DENR in Region 1.

The DMMMSU IEG was established in partnership with Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc. to provide educational services and technical support to local governments and community organizations for environmental governance.
