DMMMSU- College of Agroforestry and Forestry provided four hundred fifty (450) fruit trees and native timber seedlings in support of the tree planting initiative of the Lower Amurayan River System – Water Quality Management Area (LARS-WQMA) Governing Board on July 4, 2024. This initiative, when fully implemented, is expected to significantly improve the biodiversity and water quality of the Amburayan River System, benefiting both the environment and the local community.
The activity is part of the 6th Piesta ti Karayan Amburayan at the Municipality of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur, which will be held on July 12, 2024, to promote the protection, conservation, and sustainability of the Amburayan River System.
Fruit trees include caimito and hagis, while native timbers include yakal, palosapis, and arangen. (By RMV)
