Ms. Rheanne Jae Selin, a BS Biology student at the College of Arts and Sciences, DMMMSU-SLUC, received a scholarship letter on June 5 confirming her selection as a recipient of the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) Program. This scholarship, funded by Global Affairs Canada and administered by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), supports her studies, including airfare, accommodation, cost of living, and other expenses in Canada.
In September this year, she will engage in full-time studies for four months during the Fall 2024-2025 semester at the University of Regina (UofR) in the province of Saskatchewan.
The SEED Program, part of Global Affairs Canada’s International Scholarships Program, is a short-term exchange initiative aimed at fostering educational exchanges for development. It provides opportunities for students to study in Canada and gain valuable international experience, contributing to their personal and academic growth. UofR, one of the two academic partners of DMMMSU in North America, is a key player in our international academic exchange program. Both institutions signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the Student Exchange Agreement (SEAPA) in November 2022. This partnership not only provides opportunities for students like Ms. Rheanne Jae Selin to study abroad but also fosters a global perspective and promotes the goal of continuing internationalization.
