On June 3, 2024, DMMMSU – MLUC and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, La Union Provincial Office (BJMP, LPO) inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at BJMPRO-1 Multipurpose Hall, San Fernando City, La Union, to mark the beginning of collaboration for extension programs.

Dr. Eduardo C. Corpuz, Chancellor of DMMMSU – MLUC, and JSINSP Cherry Jane A. Reparip, Acting Provincial Jail Administrator – La Union represented the two parties.

Under this partnership, DMMMSU – MLUC, with its eight colleges, will embark on a series of extension activities. These include workshops, skills training, technology demonstrations, education lectures, and other capacity development activities. The aim is to provide holistic development opportunities for the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) and BJMP Personnel, thereby contributing to their overall well-being.

The signing was witnessed by Dr. Benigno G. Gañalon, Head of DMMMSU – MLUC Extension Unit, JSSUPT Florante D. Nisperos, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, JINSP Josephine Fe D. Daen, Chief of the Welfare and Development Division, BJMP – Regional Office 1, and the respected jail wardens in the province of La Union.
