Ms. Led Karen R. Zamudio, a faculty member at the College of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences (CCHAMS) in DMMMSU-SLUC, participated in the 17th AUAP Learning and Sharing Forum (LSF) held at Daegu Health College, Daegu City, South Korea from May 9-11, 2024.

She presented her study “Needlestick Injury among Nurses” at the Nursing Session during the event. She highlighted the integration of healthcare education and sustainable development. The event facilitated discussions on innovative approaches to healthcare education and fostered collaboration among participants to advance global health initiatives.

The forum, themed “Health: Together We Build our Health for All Through Higher Education from an Integrated Healthcare and Sustainable Development Perspective,” provided a platform for knowledge exchange and networking among healthcare professionals and educators.

The 17th AUAP Learning Forum also served as a significant catalyst for fostering international partnerships. One of the key outcomes for Ms. Zamudio was the successful establishment of various professional connections, paving the way for potential collaborations between DMMMSU and several foreign institutions. During the forum, she effectively networked with representatives from universities in the Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, and Indonesia, creating a solid foundation for future partnerships.

Moreover, the event gave her an invaluable opportunity to discuss and explore specific collaborative projects. She secured a promising research and extension collaboration with the Bataan Peninsula State University. This collaboration aims to extend the “Hope Behind Bars” project into Region 1, thereby expanding its impact and outreach. Upon returning from the forum, Ms. Zamudio began working on the initial phases of this collaboration, reflecting the immediate and tangible benefits of her participation in the event.
