On May 28, 2024, the College of Education (CE) and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of DMMMSU SLUC each won the Best Thesis awards at the campus level.
Sharrice Jyla Duran, a student of the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd)-English, received recognition for her group’s thesis titled “Oral Performance Anxiety in Teaching Internship: Cues, Coping Strategies, and Interventions.” Duran was joined by Yra Salazar, Sammer Angela Niduaza, and Shella Mae De Guzman in completing the study. Their adviser is Dr. Emmanuel J. Songcuan.
In the Technical Research Category, the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program was recognized for the thesis “Bifurcation Analysis of an Intraguild Predation Model with Constant Effort Harvesting,” presented by Romafe E. Barredo. Barredo was accompanied by Shaina Kaye G. Mercado and Rica Lyn D. Tucdaan in completing the research. Their adviser is Prof. Karen Abegail B. Oribello.
The researchers will represent the South La Union Campus at the university-level “Search for Best Thesis” on June 6, 2024 for the Technical research category and on June 7, 2024 for the social research category.
