Almar C. Cendaña, a first-year BA Communication student from the College of Arts and Sciences South La Union Campus, secured the top spot in PhilHealth’s Digital Poster Making Contest 2024.

This contest aims to promote the importance of health and wellness through visually captivating and thought-provoking digital posters as part of PhilHealth’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about health through creative means. Cendana bested 41 other entries in Region 1.

Cendaña’s victory qualifies him for the national competition, and his work will be featured in PhilHealth’s upcoming calendar for the year 2025.

Certificates and tokens of appreciation were also awarded to other participants, including Jonhel L. Gonzales, Janry M. Runas, John Rey F. Balmes, and Mark Christian N. Soriano, all of whom are students from the South La Union Campus.

The award ceremony took place on May 13, 2024, in the SLUC administration building conference room. At the event, Cendaña and his coach, Dr. Ernesto Collo, received a Certificate of Recognition and a token for their outstanding accomplishment.
