Dr. Junifer Rey E. Tabafunda, NLUC Chancellor; and Prof. Frediz Winda F. Badua, NLUC Head for Instruction represented DMMMSU at the first Philippines-Canada Higher Education Forum organized by the Embassy of Canada and Universities Canada at Fairmont Makati on November 7, 2023.

The event aimed at fostering collaboration and forging stronger ties in higher education and science, technology, and innovation between Canada and the Philippines. It also served as an avenue for university leaders to share ideas and address challenges in higher education.

Dr. Tabafunda served as one of the speakers in the panel discussions. Along with the other university presidents from Canada and the Philippines, they shared the best practices for sustainability and discussed long-term institutional partnerships between Canadian and Philippine institutions.

Further, the sessions featured topics on Canada’s research strengths, climate-smart agriculture, indigenous knowledge systems, and the role of women in higher education and internationalization.

With the University’s vision of being a globally competitive university, DMMMSU continues to strengthen its partnership and collaboration with other international institutions. (By Frediz Winda F. Badua)
