CGS Profs, studes present papers in Vietnam
Faculty members, student researchers, and the Dean of the College of Graduate (CGS) of the Mid La Union Campus, Dr. Paulito C. Nisperos, participated in the 2023 EROPA Conference and General Assembly. The conference took place at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, Vietnam, from October 17th to 20th, 2023. CGS presenters were joined in by Dr. Grace A. Llobrera-Diamse (Program Chair for Masters in Management Engineering) and Atty. Jonald F. Carrera, a Faculty Member of DMMMSU Open University System who also attended in the conference.
Focused on the topic of “The Role of Public Governance in Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Towards the Sustainable Development Goals,” this event was organized by the Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA) and hosted by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam through the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA). The University of the Philippines – National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) also collaborated in this partnership.
The titles of the three research papers are as follows:
- “Build, Build, Build: Government Implemented Transport Infrastructure Projects as Boosters to Socio-Economic Development in the Province of La Union,” authored by Mr. Jerome Orate, Planning Officer at the Provincial Government of La Union, and Dr. Paulito C. Nisperos.
- “Environmental Audit of Performance Challenge Fund Infrastructure Projects in the Province of La Union, Philippines,” co-authored with Engr. Art Anthony Umel, Engineer III at the Department of Interior and Local Government, and Dr. Paulito C. Nisperos.
- “Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) Knowledge, Attitude and Sexual Behavior of Youth in La Union” authored by Mr. Gino Rae C. Contreras and Dr. Ophelia Romana Luisa A. Cardenas.
The research studies mentioned above are relevant to the Development Administration and Management Engineering programs offered by the MLUC College of Graduate Studies. These academic programs will undergo Level IV Sustainability Assessment and Level IV Phase 1 review in 2024. (By Arrianne Michelle Fabro)
