Buccat-Villamin, Director, Legal Services; Dr. Stephan Kupsch, Director, Information & Communications Technology; and Dr. Jake Alminiana, Web Administrator participated in the 2023 National Convention cum Seminar organized by the People Managers Association of State Universities and Colleges (PMSUC), Inc.

The convention was held at the COA International Training Center and Dormitory in Kaybangal South, Tagaytay City, Cavite on October 10 to 12, 2023. It brought together brought together educational leaders, policymakers, and experts who are committed to elevating SUCs to a higher level of digitalization. The event served as an essential platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, ultimately aiming to equip SUCs with the tools and insights necessary to embark on a transformative journey towards digitalization.

Under the theme “Transformative Mechanism for SUCs towards Digitalization,” the convention addressed a myriad of pressing issues and concerns central to the digitalization of SUCs. Key topics of discussion included the following:

1. Issues and Concerns on ROSS (Records Online System for SUCs): Attendees engaged in in-depth conversations about the challenges and opportunities tied to the implementation of ROSS.

2. COA Rules and Regulations in the Implementation of Digitalization: A critical component of the event, this session scrutinized the rules and regulations set forth by the Commission on Audit (COA) concerning digitalization practices within SUCs.

3. Best Practices on Digitalization: Participants had the chance to share and learn from success stories and best practices related to digitalization, offering invaluable insights for improvement.

4. Inter-Operability of Digitalization and Accountability: The intersection of digitalization and accountability was explored in-depth, focusing on how these factors can work together seamlessly to enhance overall efficiency and transparency.

5. Introduction and Applicability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for HR Practices: The role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming HR practices was a key highlight, underscoring the potential to revolutionize human resource management within SUCs.

6. Updates on CSC Rules and Regulations: The event also provided updates on rules and regulations set by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), which are essential for the successful adaptation of digitalization in SUCs.

The PMSUC, Inc. continues to be at the forefront of driving positive change in state universities and colleges, ensuring that these institutions remain innovative, accountable, and in sync with the demands of the digital age. (By Ayu)
