Ten Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management students and two IABM faculty members attended the 2023 CHED R01’s 2nd Business-Accounting: Networking and Knowledge (BANK) Summit with the theme, “Digital Transformation: A Pathway for Resilient, Innovative, Sustainable and Excellent (RISE) Business Education Programs” at the University of Northern Philippines in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur on September 21, 2023.

The summit was composed of four sessions. The first session featured Mr. Jerald James Montgomery, CPA, MBA, Revenue Officer 1 of BİR Region 1. He discussed the Responsible and Effective Use of AI Tools in Teaching Accounting and Business Research. The second session focused on the Innovation and Excellence in the Delivery of Original, Scientific, and Technology-driven (DOST) Product/Business Pitches presented by Engr. Jordan L. Abad, Provincial Director of DOST Ilocos Sur.
The third session was led by Ms. Ma. Lourdes Laconsay, Bank Officer IV of BSP Northern Luzon. Ms. Laconsay discussed the Role of Teaching Digital Finance for a Balanced, Sustainable, and Progressive (BSP) Philippine Economy.
The last session was about Digital Transformation Initiatives (DTI): A Key Player Towards Business Resilience and Sustainability, which Dir delivered. Grace R. Lapastora, Assistant Regional Director of DTI Region 1.
The participants gained invaluable insights into accounting, business, and finance, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities in their careers. These insights gave them a deeper understanding of financial technology trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
The BSABM students placed 2nd in the afternoon session in the Kahoot Challenge (Quiz Bee). (By Leny Grace Carino)
