To celebrate the feats of La Union athletes, 23rd Sangguniang Panlalawigan of La Union commended DMMMSU’s basketball women and sepak takraw men teams at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Legislative Building and Session Hall, Provincial Capitol of the City of San on Fernando, La Union on March 14, 2023.

These university student-players were found deserving of recognition as the women’s basketball team was the Champion, while men’s sepak takraw team placed third during the SCUAA-R1 held last November 21-25, 2022 in Lingayen, Pangasinan. They will represent Region 1 in the National Sports Competitions this year.

An alumna of DMMMSU Laboratory High School, Hon. Alyssa Kristine B. Sibuma, now the SK Federation President and the SP Committee on Youth and Sports Development co-authored the Resolution of Commendation and spearheaded the approval of the said resolution. During the awarding ceremony, she expressed support of all athletes and all sports endeavors in La Union. (by Ayu)
