Members of DMMMSU GAD Focal Point System namely Atty. Kristine Gay Balanag (Director for Administrative Services), Dr. Lilito Gavina (Director for Planning), Dr. Emerita Galiste (Director for Extension), Prof. Keneth G. Bayani (Director for Research), Prof. Laiza Niduaza (Director for Instruction), and Dr. Sherlyn Marie D. Nitura (University GAD Focal Person) attended the 8th National Seminar-Workshop 2023 at Manila Grand Opera Hotel, Doroteo Jose, Manila on February 20-21, 2023.
They learned from plenary topics – Phenomenon Based Approaches in Mainstreaming GAD Strategic Delivery in the 4-N’s (Now, New, Next, Normal), and Gender Responsive Based Approaches in the Governance, Research, Instruction, and Partnership for Sustainability of the GAD Program shared by Dr. Danny A. Cabulay and Dr. Allan Galvez, respectively.
Also, they formulated an institutional advocacy plan for commitment and sustainability program in areas of governance, research, instruction, partnership and extension. During the presentation of their outputs, they passed the scrutiny of the officers and members of the Philippine Association of Gender and Development Advocates, Inc. (PAGDAI). Their output as well as those of the HEIs’ will serve as bases for proposals to address issues and concerns. The said proposal will be presented during the PAGDAI Summit in November this year.
The seminar-workshop, anchored in the theme “Strengthening Partnership, Weathering Challenges, Achieving Goals and Incorporating Strategic Focus for Gender and Development (GAD)”, pooled stakeholders from the academic and other related sectors to re-kindle action and commitment to ensure cooperative action, understanding and continuity of GAD program that supports fare, and unified active efforts for the welfare of humanity and the country.
