DMMMSU extended its technology in producing local but quality sea salt through solar evaporation through Geomembrane-High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) food-grade plastic platforms in Mindanao and Visayas.

Dr. Andie John D. Tadeo, Director for Fisheries Research and Training Institute, collaborated with Dr. Hahn and Bagful of Joy headed by Ms. Shiela De Asis to equip teachers in the Schools Division of City of Mati, Davao City, and the coastal communities on January 6 to 8, 2023.

In Davao De Oro, Dr. Tadeo partnered with LGU of Pantukan, its Mayor, Hon. Leonel Ceniza, and still with the help of Dr. Hahn and Bagful of Joy to train the Fisherfolk Associations on January 9-10, 2023. And still with the same sponsors, Dr. Tadeo upskilled the coastal communities in Barangay San Agustin,  Baybay City, Leyte on February 9 to 10, 2023.

As for Dr. Tadeo, he wishes to thank Mr. Archimedes De Asis, Mr. Teofilo Responte, Mr Joanathan Gallardo, and Mr. Richard Rivera, and the project sponsors and coordinators for their support and assistance during the series of training.

Dr. Andie John D. Tadeo is one of the Project Leaders of the Sea Salt Project in La Union and has been serving as a resource speaker orienting and training various communities on sea salt making using the said technology. (by Ayu)
