December 12, 2022 — DMMMSU has earned an institutional rating of 3 Stars from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) based on thorough and independent data collection and analysis of performance measures as outlined in the QS Stars methodology. This news has just been received by DMMMSU via email.
The QS Stars™ rating system is operated by QS, the world’s leading provider of services, analytics, and insight to the global higher education sector. Since 2004, it has been the sole independent compiler of the QS World University Rankings. The approach assesses institutions based on a wide range of crucial performance indicators and compares them to international benchmarks that have already been established. QS Stars provide information on the excellence and diversity of the graded institution by using more criteria than any world ranking endeavor.
In the QS Star rating system, universities are evaluated according to Core Criteria (Teaching, Employability, Internationalization, and Research/Academic Development), Learning Environment (Facilities/Online), Specialist Criteria (Subject Ranking/Program Strength), and Advanced Criteria (choosing two from Arts & Culture, Innovation, Social Responsibility, and Inclusiveness.)
Among the eight criteria, DMMMSU scored highest in Teaching and Social Responsibility with 5 Stars. The University got 4 Stars for Employability and Academic Development. For Program Strength, QS awarded DMMMSU’s flagship program Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with 3 Stars
DMMMSU underwent the QS audit process starting August this year under the Commission on Higher Education’s “Fostering World-Class Universities” project (Batch 2), which subsidized the QS payment for the state universities included in the project.
A three-star rating means that the “institution maintains a reputable level of teaching and its graduates are attractive to employers. These institutions show potential in achieving international education standards and undertake complex research activities, experimenting with pedagogical teaching.”
Depending on how well they do in at least seven categories, QS Stars rates universities from one to five plus stars. By highlighting a university’s advantages and areas of specialization, the QS Stars badges raise its institutional visibility and international recognition.
Additionally, it offers prospective students a further tool for selecting a university by giving them more in-depth knowledge of other schools.
