Rising up to the challenge of academe and industry collaboration and internationalization, DMMMSU sent two Open University System (OUS) students to the UREKA Global Trainee – HR Internship Programme— virtually in Dubai in June to July 2022.

Ms. Jo Ann Marie L. Ducusin and Ms. Aizel Christine G. Trapane, both Bachelor of Science in Business Administration- Major in Human Resource Management students of DMMMSU-OUS, attended 4 and 8-week long internship, respectively. They each had to complete weekly projects.

They were assigned a mentor from UREKA who guided and supported them in completing their project and provided them insights and inputs.

The internship was rigorous and sought to push student-interns around the world out of their comfort zone to learn and deliver their best. The certificates are graded (A – C) based on the performance of students assessed by their mentors.

“I’ve learned a lot from the program, especially from the mentors who are experts in the corporate world. We’ve also formed friendships and networks with our co-interns from other countries’”, said Ms. Ducusin on her experiences and take-aways of the program.

Endorsed by the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), in cooperation with the Global Knowledge Alliance (GKA), UREKA Education is a multinational education group established in London in 2014 by a group of Sloan Fellows from London Business School.
