Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) held its first in-person graduation rites since 2019 on various dates in June 2022. This year, DMMMSU winded up the school year with graduation ceremonies for Batch 2022 and for Batch 2020 and 2021 whose ceremonies were held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the North La Union Campus, 39th, 40th, and 41st commencement exercises were held on June 22, 2022, at the Ortega Memorial Center of the Campus.
For the South La Union Campus, the commencement exercises for Batches 2020 and 2021 were held on June 24. Meanwhile, the 41st graduation ceremony for the College of Graduate Studies, College of Agriculture, and College of Education were held on June 27. The College of Arts and Science, CCHAMS, College of Computer Studies, and CF conducted their commencement ceremonies on June 29 at the Jose Aspiras Hall. Before these schedules, SLUC kicked off the commencement exercises with a Baccalaureate Mass for all batches on June 20.
Mid-La Union Campus wrapped up its 5-day graduation ceremonies with the following schedules:
- June 14: College of Graduate Studies (Batch 2020, 2021, 2022)
- June 16: All Colleges and Institutes of Batch 2020 and 2021
- June 22: Institute of Criminal Justice Education & College of Technology (Batch 2022)
- June 23: College of Law, College of Engineering, and College of Management (Batch 2022)
- June 28: College of Information Technology, College of Education, and College of Arts and Sciences (Batch 2022).
Meanwhile, DMMMSU-Open University System held its 24th, 25th, and 26th graduation ceremonies on June 18, 2022.
In his speech during the last graduation rites which was held this morning, June 29, 2022 at the South La Union Campus, Dr. Jaime I. Manuel Jr., DMMMSU President, expressed his gratitude to the personnel behind the success of graduations rites in all the Campuses including that of the Open University System.
He also urged the graduates to keep pursuing their dreams and to give back to their parents for their sacrifices.
“I challenge every one of you to seek employment so that you can help your parents or guardians for all the sacrifices they have given you,” Dr. Manuel emphasized.
Addressing the Batch 2022 of SLUC, Dr. Manuel also challenged the Latin honor awardees to fare in their respective board exams and promised to award P10,000 from his own money to augment the cash award to be given by the University to topnotchers. The University gives P100, 000 for those who rank as number one in the Board Examinations. Ranks 2 to 10 are also given corresponding cash awards. (Jerald Saculles)
