Dr. Hartwell Norman M. Merza, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the Mid La Union Campus, served as one of the keynote speakers at the 2nd Global Educator/s Congress on English for International Communication which was held on March 25-28, 2022.
With the conference theme, “Teaching English for International Communication in the New Normal and Beyond: Innovation, Engagement and Resilience”, Dr. Merza delivered his topic on the “Challenges and Opportunities in Research Collaboration in an International Spectrum” before hundreds of attendees from the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, Pakistan and India.

The conference was organized by the International Alliance of English Language Teachers, in partnership with the International Society of Teachers, Administrators and Researchers (ISTAR), Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), Mirwais Neeka Insitutte of Higher Education, Mexican Association of Teachers of English— among many others.
The global conference aimed to bring together world-leading educators, schools and universities and renowned online education platforms across all geographical regions. It was also held in response to cross-border communication and global educational challenges and opportunities rendered by the age of the internet and virtual interconnectivity in the new normal.
