DMMMSU will be institutionalized as Regional Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator through the signing of Memorandum of Agreement by Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., DMMMSU President, with the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture Aquatic Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) under the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program on March 18, 2022.

DOST-PCAARRD approved the 4.04 million-peso grant for DMMMSU to implement Project 3 – Boosting the Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation in DMMMSU and MMSU through the RAISE Program which runs from January 1, 2022-December 31, 2023.

Through this project, DMMMSU will provide support to ILAARDEC CMIs (Consortium Member Institutions) and other ATBIs. As the Regional ATBI, DMMMSU ATBI will provide capability building on technology transfer to R & D partners in Region 1, provide a venue for convergence of regional AANR stakeholders, provide incubation services to potential adopters/incubatees/co-incubatees, facilitate public-private access to AANR technologies to improve the innovation system in Region 1, and strengthen the existing and forge new public private partnerships for utilization of research outputs.

Taking the lead in the implementation of the project is Prof. Victoria N. Malaya, Project Leader of DMMMSU-ATBI (Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator) together with Ms. Dianne A. Peralta as Project Staff, and President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., and other University Administrative Officials. (VNM)
