920 mangroves (bungalon and saging-saging) were planted at Barangay Casantaan, Santo Tomas, La Union on November 26, 2021 as part of the Mangrove Enrichment Project being implemented by DMMMSU Institute of Environmental Governance, Tanggol Kalikasan, and Santo Tomas LGU.

The participants in the mangroves planting activity include fisherfolk community, Municipal PNP, LGU, Young Earthsavers’ Society, and DMMMSU IEG.

The project aims at increasing and diversifying the local  mangrove ecosystem. This also helps in climate change mitigation and adaptation. Bani seedlings were also provided to the barangay for their greening program. (CHJucutan)
