DMMMSU-Open University System (DOUS) honored their alumni through a virtual gathering of the University officials, DOUS faculty members, non-teaching personnel, students, graduates, alumni officers and other stakeholders. The activity was tagged as ‘Alumni Zoomcoming’ where DOUS graduates were able to revisit their Alma Mater through the looped visual presentations featuring their stay in the institution.

Hon. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, La Union Vice Governor and DMMMSU Federated Alumni Association President, served as the Guest Speaker during the ‘zoomcoming’. In his speech, Hon. Ortega emphasized the importance of continuously connecting the graduates in the Institution.

“Alumni are happy knowing that they are recognized and remembered. They are the measurement of the success of the academe in molding them to be professionally competent, an indicator of a life-long and global existence of our beloved University.”

Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., University President, also extended his words of gratitude through Dr. Estrella N. Perez, Vice President for Administration. He acknowledged the contributions of the alumni in continuously raising the bar of the University as demonstrated in their competence in their respective fields of specialization.

“Our alumni serve as bridges of hope to the students showing that through the hallmarks of DMMMSU, they become assets in nation building.”

Talents and heartfelt messages from the alumni were showcased online as highlights of the celebration. The activity was spearheaded by Dr. Cristita C. Guerra, DOUS Executive Director, with Ms. Cecila M. Villanueva, Alumni Relations Officer, the DOUS Alumni Officers, and DOUS personnel. (Lher Verell S. Palabay)
