With the aim to foster creativity and artistic excellence in the University, the College of Arts and Sciences of DMMMSU-NLUC will spearhead the university-wide training entitled DMMMSU SalikSining2021: Webinar-Workshop on Creative Works Production and Practice-Led Research.

The said training will be held at the DMMMSU International Convention Center (On-site) and via Zoom/ Facebook Livestreaming (Off-site) on May 27-28, 2021.

          This webinar-workshop aims to capacitate faculty researchers especially in the field of languages, arts, humanities, culture, and social sciences in the marriage of the scholarship of research and creative processes.

“This training is a pioneering event from the College of Arts and Sciences of DMMMSU-NLUC in line with the University’s agenda of encouraging faculty and staff to produce creative works that are relevant in the advancement of instruction” Dr. Raul B. Sampaga, CAS Dean, said in an interview.

          Prof. Jimmy B. Fong, Dean of the College of Arts and Communication of the University of the Philippines- Baguio is expected to deliver his keynote address on the riveting role of creative works in higher education institutions.

          The event will also showcase competent and illustrious plenary speakers who would share insights, experiences, and best practices in practice-led research, literary arts research and production, visual arts research and production, and culture-based stage arts.

          ‘SalikSining’ is a creatively coined word from the terms “saliksik” (research) and “sining” (arts) to denote the fusion of research and creative/artistic processes.
