Taking off from last year’s first roll out of trainings, Project SAFE continues to aid DMMMSU faculty through virtual training sessions to reinforce their knowledge and skills in different platforms and learning arrangements.
Headed by Dr. Emmanuel J. Songcuan as the Team Leader, Project SAFE Train the Trainers runs from March 24 to November 24 of this year. Over 1000 trainers and faculty-trainees from all DMMMSU campuses will engage in the virtual training sessions.Project SAFE, which stands for Sheltered, Adaptive, & Flexible Education, has courses for trainers who will then cascade the program to their respective campus/colleges. As the effects of the pandemic continue to affect all learners and teachers, the training targets to offer a continuing professional and community development, provide training in transitioning to the new ecosystem of educational delivery, have the trainees apply their knowledge and skills in implementing flexible learning in their classrooms, and assess the quality and effectiveness of flexible learning arrangements implemented in the colleges.
Project SAFE Train-the-Trainers Session is an initiative of DMMMSU through the collaboration of different agencies, institutions, and DMMMSU operating units sharing their expertise. These agencies are American Universities/Institutions under the Texas International Education Consortium sponsored by US Embassy-Manila and the Commission on Higher Education, Offices of the VPA, VPAA, VPRE, Chancellors, Instruction, Extension, IQAS, MIS, and the different colleges/programs of DMMMSU, and invited subject matter specialists/experts in different fields. This CHED-TIEC-DMMMSU Flexible Learning Program will focus on building course materials, supporting learning success, using varied resources for accessing learning, and coping, norming and performing amidst these challenging times.
