DMMMSU-SLUC DRRM team engaged in a 5-day training on Capacity-Building in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management held at the Teachers’ Training Center, at DMMMSU-SLUC, Agoo, La Union from March 22-26, 2021.
The program aims to train employees and stakeholders in disaster risk reduction and management, enhance their capacity in managing COVID-19 pandemic, and mainstream DRRM in the University. Following the health protocol, the participants convened on March 22 shortly for an orientation of the training. They were composed of the Campus DRRM Committee headed by Prof. Jiyger Pre, faculty, staff, DRRM facilitators, and the Campus Emergency Response Team.
The rest of the meetings were done online which covered topics on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Contingency Planning, Public Service Continuity Planning, and ICS Executive Training Course. This training was held in cooperation with the Office of the Civil Defense-RO1 with Mr. Jomar Lucena as the team leader. The same training will also be conducted in MLUC and NLUC in April and May.
