In line with the month-long celebration of NARTDI’s 19th Founding Anniversary, the beekeeping researchers and extensionists (R&E) attended the training-workshop on Technical Writing, held on October 12 and 14, 2020 at the Institute’s Conference Hall. Dr. Antonio O. Ogbinar, University and Board Secretary, served as the Resource Person.

The following NARTDI personnel who are involved in various R&E activities, completed the said training: Mac Donald C. Acosta, Carolyn A. Akilith, George T. Bondot, David T. de Castro, Adora A. Garcia, Rolyne Mae C. Pajarillo, Mishima P. Soliba, Merlito D. Tangalin, and Arvin C. Tuyan, respectively.

During the training, they were coached on how to write clear and effective technical reports. Specifically, a review on what a technical paper is, the kinds of technical literature, classification of reports according to function, types of technical reports, outline of a technical paper, and general considerations and some common errors in the preparation of reports, were discussed. They were also taught on how to prepare an interesting and substantial PowerPoint.

Towards the end of the training-workshop, the participants presented their outputs. This activity is deemed timely and relevant to the NARTDI specialists whose line of work requires them to write proposals, technical papers, terminal reports of researches and extension projects, and present findings in research and extension conferences.
