In these difficult and unprecedented times (no thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic), Bill Gates said that: “…the power of free will is in our hands. We can choose to cooperate and help each other, to share, to give, to help and support each other or we can choose to be selfish, to hoard, to look after only our self. Indeed, it is difficulties that bring out our true colors.”
The Commission on Higher Eduducation (CHED) just recently launched a timely undertaking dubbed as “COVID-19 SUC’s Initiative.”
In response to this, DMMMSU, through the leadership of Pres. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., also launched a laudable initiative known as “DMMMSU para sa Elyu” by donating pork meat from 26 pigs for 20 LGUs in La Union, including 6 hospitals. Also for distribution are 250 bars of seaweed soap “Seabon” (manufactured by DMMMSU – Fisheries Research and Training Institute), bottles of hand soap and face shields for the frontliners which are already on production.
Indeed, Bill Gates was true when he further said that the COVID-19 is teaching us that “our true work is to look after each other, to protect each other and to be of benefit to one another.” (AOgbinar)
