The Center for Languages and Intercultural Communication and Knowledge (CLICK), under the University Office of Internationalization and Linkages (OIL) hosted Grade 10 students from Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University Demonstration School, Thailand for a six-day English Camp in Swimmers’ World Resort, Agoo, La Union last November 19-24, 2019.
Putting premium in enhancing English language skills of participants in an authentic and practical fun-filled environment, CLICK engaged the RMU campers in an interactive learning through games, group dynamics, and historical and cultural exposures.
Interactive learning sessions— called Building English Skills for Tomorrow (BEST)— were conducted in Day 1. The campers learned English collaboratively through songs, plays, movements and races.
To enjoy authentic relationships with ASEAN teachers and international students, they were hosted for barbecue parties and ASEAN cooking feasts, and socializations during night time.
For two days, they were also toured in the 1st and 2nd districts of La Union for their Language on Foot sessions— where they were asked to come up with photo essays and video blogs. This was made possible in collaboration with the Provincial Government of La Union.
Their weekends were spent for Survival English and English Walking sessions in Baguio City, and in Intramuros, Manila.
