In celebration of the 30th National Statistics Month, the Mathematics and Allied Disciplines Department of the College of Arts and Sciences partnered with the Philippine Statistics Authority in Region 1 to host a Statistical Symposium in DMMMSU SLUC, Agoo, La Union, October 23, 2019.

Guests from PSA RSSO I gave lectures on vital statistics essential in the province and in the region, which were designed around the theme “Data Innovation: key to a Better Nation”.

Danites E. Teῆido, Ph.D., Statistical Specialist II and Officer-in-Charge (SOCD) presented the 1st Semester Poverty Statistics. Dr. Divina Amor P. Rivera, Statistical Specialist II, gave a presentation on the 2015 Census Population Results for Ilocos Region. Joseph M. Severo, Information Systems Analyst I, presented the Gross Regional Domestic Product of Region 1 and John Michael S. Sarabia, Assistant Statistician, gave a lecture on Employment Statistics.

The symposium was organized by the Mathematics and Allied Disciplines Department as part of their extension project.
