Sixty seven Agriculture graduating students of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, 26 from the North La Union Campus (NLUC) and 41 from the South La Union Campus (SLUC), recently returned home pregnant with richer skills and knowledge from a successful 11-month on-the-job training in Israel under the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) in Agro-Studies. They were among the hundreds of qualified Filipinos who took part in the program.

The group of NLUC students paid a courtesy visit this morning to the Office of DMMMSU President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr.

Israel has contributed to the agricultural knowledge of Filipinos, underscoring its importance. The Philippine – Israeli Center for Agricultural Training is now on its 13th year. The program is in the form of on-the-job trainings where Filipino students are given the opportunity to learn first hand Israeli agricultural practices and technical know-how.

Last week, the next batch of qualified DMMMSU students, composed of 25 NLUC and 32 SLUC students, flew in to Israel who will undergo the same training program. (AOgbinar)
