Two BS Information Systems senior students of DMMMSU-North La Union Campus have been qualified to participate in the 4th batch of Southeast Asia-Technical and Vocational Education and Training (SEA-TVET) Exchange Program to be held at the Universitas Negeri Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia from September 21 to October 20, 2019.

These students are:Angelica Dian and Mariella Opinaldo Arellano Manzano.

TVET has been identified as one of the seven priority areas for educational development in Southeast Asia from 2015 to 2035.

Implemented by the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), an intergovernmental organization of the eleven Southeast Asian countries, the SEA-TVET Consortium formalises the partnership among TVET institutions and industry sectors, in order to achieve the following goals:

1. To leverage the standard and competency of TVET in Southeast Asia through internationalisation and harmonisation;
2. To promote and develop the curriculum harmonisation, and internationalisation of study programmes through lecturer/student exchange, joint research programmes and industrial linkages; and
3. To create a sustainable networking platform among TVET leaders and institutions in Southeast Asia and industry, as well as other related development agencies and industry sectors.

Congratulations and good luck, Angelica and Mariella! Make DMMMSU and the Philippines proud. (They have been two of my topnotch students last school year…) AOgbinar
