Julius Ceasar M. Amoyen, magna cum laude graduate of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), North La Union Campus (NLUC), Bacnotan, La Union topped the June 2015 Licensure Examination for Agriculturist (LEA) given by the Professional Regulation Commission. He obtained a rating of 87.00%. Ranked 2nd and 3rd were from the University of the Philippines-Los Banos and University of Southern Mindanao, Kabacan, North Cotabato, with ratings of 85.50% and 85.30%, respectively.
Another DMMMSU magna cum laude graduate, Jeisel Obillo Labatete, made it to the Top Ten, notching a respectable 10th spot with seven others. The national passing rate is 31%, where 1,888 passed among 6,080 examinees.
In 2012, another DMMMSU graduate, Marjon S. Libong, placed 7th in the same Licensure Examination, with a rating of 85%.
Amoyen is a native of Barangay Up-uplas, Sudipen, La Union while Labatete is from Barangay Camilo Osias, Balaoan, La Union.
Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., Chancellor of DMMMSU-NLUC, said that the impressive showing of DMMMSU graduates in this year’s agriculturist licensure examination is a big boost to the Campus’s bid as a Center of Development/Excellence in Agriculture Education.
DMMMSU President Benjamin P. Sapitula, on the other hand, said that such feat fortifies the continuing journey of the University toward academic excellence and global competitiveness.
